Control & Operation of Cracked Gas Compressor & Steam Turbine

Course Duration/Credits

Three days/1.95 CEUs/19.5 PDHs

Course Description

The course is designed to provide delegates with a detailed and up-to-date overview of cryogenic air separation plants operation and maintenance. For further treatment of primary and intermediate materials, large amounts of oxygen and nitrogen are required by many industries, such as chemical and petrochemical, metal, semiconductor and food industry, in machine construction and many others. Oxygen and nitrogen are, together with Argon, the main constituents of ambient air. They are obtained from there by means of the air separation technology in highly automated air separation plants.

Further, the course will also discuss the Cryogenic Safetyandcryogenic air separation processes to separate air into the desired products oxygen, nitrogen and argon; filtering of compress and purifying ambient air; the rectification or separation of air into its components in a two-column rectification system comprising of high-pressure and a low-pressure column; reducing production costs or consumption; ensuring product quality are dominating goals in air separation plant operation; using process gas analyzers throughout the process to provide the required data; and the single analyser or complete solution to equip air separation plants with analysis instrumentation commissioning and maintenance of analysis systems.

During this interactive course, participants will learn the oxygen analysis as the most important measuring component in air separation plants; measure hydrocarbons and use ambient air as raw material of hydrocarbons; remove HC compounds from the process gas prior to the heat exchanger and monitor their concentration; arrange the traces of hydrocarbons in the final product streams with the high accuracy and reliability in order to ensure compliance with the product specification set by the consumer; measure oxygen in air separation plants as well as measure carbon dioxide removed by refrigeration prior to the beginning of the process to monitor the traces of CO2 removal; and monitor the traces of CO2 to assure product quality and compliance with the specification.
