We are delighted to share that STARTINFORUM, in close coordination with the International Association for Technology, Education and Language Studies (IATELS), has initiated high-level strategic discussions with the Digital Skills Development Department of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of National Education (MEB).

Led by Prof. Dr. Iryna Sekret (Chair of the Board, IATELS / Senior Manager, STARTINFORUM), the meeting served as a dynamic platform to explore macro-level institutional collaborations aimed at integrating cutting-edge educational frameworks, artificial intelligence, and holistic well-being ecosystems into the Turkish state school curriculum.

Advancing Digital Education: The HUMAN-AI Horizon Europe Nexus

A core focus of the discussion was the upcoming HUMAN-AI project, a prestigious 4-year global academic consortium funded under the Horizon Europe MSCA Staff Exchanges framework, scheduled to officially launch in November 2026.

Prof. Dr. Sekret presented the project’s mission—focusing on the ethical and innovative integration of Artificial Intelligence in education while fiercely preserving the human dimension of learning. Given MEB’s expansive role in managing the digital infrastructure for millions of students nationwide, discussions centered on creating a robust framework to seamlessly transfer the high-level research outcomes of the HUMAN-AI project directly into public schools and universities.

“We are incredibly honored to align our international research capabilities with the systemic vision of the Turkish Ministry of National Education. By combining digital innovation with deep socio-emotional and psychological security, we aim to co-create a learning environment where every child can safely thrive and unlock their full potential.”

A Multifaceted Vision for Primary and Secondary Education

During the session, the STARTINFORUM delegation pitched a series of ready-to-execute, innovative educational pillars designed to enhance student outcomes across Turkey:

  • Early Age Language Acquisition: Active learning, communicative, and kinesthetic material packages (Pre-A1 to A1) optimized for smart boards.

  • Functional STEAM & Cognitive Development: A systematic, sequential English-medium syllabus for Middle Schools (Grades 5-8), bridging language acquisition with scientific inquiry and LGS analytical readiness.

  • The “Digital School Counselor” Platform: A highly secure, ethically guarded digital ecosystem utilizing advanced psychometric tools, triadic interview matrices, and projective techniques to track and safeguard students’ longitudinal psychological well-being and identify natural leadership talents.

  • Sustainability & Eco-Literacy: Specialized training modules designed to cultivate environmental responsibility in modern classrooms.

Institutional Alignment & Next Steps

Representing the Ministry, Innovative Applications Coordinator H. Emre Bey detailed MEB’s extensive digital skills initiatives and their ongoing technological capacity-building partnerships (including collaborations with the British Council Turkey on AI in foreign language education).

Highlighting the Ministry’s vast implementation network, the MEB team expressed strong openness to exploring formal partnership avenues, participating in upcoming Horizon Europe initiatives, and evaluating the integration of specialized ministry personnel into global consortium frameworks.

Moving Forward:

As immediate next steps, STARTINFORUM will provide detailed project documentation and architectural output frameworks to the Ministry’s technical teams. Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Iryna Sekret is scheduled to visit the Ministry headquarters in Ankara after June to formalize the operational roadmap, alongside a potential invitation to participate in a high-level educational technology event near Bolu this autumn.

“As the Ministry of National Education, our primary objective is to equip our teachers and millions of students with the high-level digital competencies required for the future, while ensuring our educational infrastructure remains innovative, scalable, and pedagogically sound. Initiating these discussions with STARTINFORUM and IATELS opens up valuable horizons, particularly regarding the translation of international research—like the Horizon Europe HUMAN-AI project—into actionable classroom frameworks. We recognize the profound importance of combining digital innovation with functional STEAM practices and comprehensive student well-being. We look forward to evaluating how our extensive institutional capacity can contribute to these global educational ecosystems.”
